Psychometric Assessments and Services

Critical Factors providers a range of Psychometric Services and assessments linked to People, Culture and Performance.

We have access to a wide range of Psychometric and Skills Assessment Tools that we use to generate client data to increase efficiency. These tools range from Employee Skills Testing through to advanced Psychometric profiling instruments, including the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) and DISC profiling. We also provide a range of ongoing leadership tools including 360° and 180° assessments—which measure and compare the varied perceptions of our clients. Staff and customer Pulse Check Surveys are devised on a similar basis, except the subject is the entity, not the individual. This system helps management teams formulate short, medium and long-term business strategies.
We use these across:

Development

If your employees are unproductive or their performance simply isn’t at the standard it needs to be, Timothy Kitching can provide structured and meaningful coaching, mentoring & training to help them get back on track.

You may be finding these insufficiencies are stemming from issues further up the ladder within the management team. If this is the case, we can also target behavioural issues to improve internal leadership and drive employee engagement.

Some tools we use to combat these issues include: DISC Profiling, used to identify differences in human behaviour; Profiles Performance Indicator (PPI), to assess the personality fit between an employee and their manager & co-workers; Profiles Managerial Fit (PMF), to measure one’s approach to learning based on six critical dimensions of compatibility; 180 Surveys, to improve operational, sales & customer service performance of individual employees; and 360 Surveys, to increase leadership, people management, sales & customer service skills.

These are just some of the tools we have at our disposal; a little bit of understanding can go a long way.

Recruitment and Selection

Is your business or workplace lacking competence on the basis of poor recruitment?

We have multiple solutions to aid the ongoing struggle of role compatibility. These solutions come in the form of psychometric assessment tools, and they help management teams identify the strengths of potential employees early on in the recruitment process.

Two of the tools we would recommend for this purpose are the Profile XT and the Profiles Performance Indicator. Profile XT (PXT) is best known for the “job matching” feature, which enables employers to match the qualities of an individual with the specific requirements of the role.

The Profiles Performance Indicator (PPI) discloses and measures personality traits of an individual, and how these traits will or won’t fit within the current structure/dynamic of your work space.

Through utilising these tools in addition to our coaching services, we improve the success rate of recruitment by up to 300%.

Leadership

Poor leadership has the potential to damage the entire workplace environment. If your management team is failing to drive appropriate behaviour, or their focussing their attention away from important issues, it may be time to intervene with the appropriate tools. We can work to produce a Coaching Summary for every member of the leadership team, outlining individual areas of focus.
To assist in this, we can use tools such as: DISC Profiling, to discuss behavioural differences and promote personal & team development; Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI), to define the extent to which we use the four quadrants of the Whole Brain Model; Profile XT (PXT), to evaluate an individual relative to the qualities required to successfully perform in a specific role; Profiles Performance Indicator (PPI), used to resolve conflict and performance issues; Profiles Managerial Fit (PMF), to measure the compatibility between a manager and their employees; 180 Surveys, to measure the perceptions of employees in relation to their manager; 360 Surveys, to increase leadership & people management; and Pulse Surveys; to measure the perceptions respondents have about an entity to better understand a manager’s levels of engagement.

Team Retention

Does your team seem disinterested at work? This might be due to ineffective retention strategies and lack of internal marketing. To restore healthy employee engagement, one of the tools we would suggest is the Organisational Pulse Surveys. These surveys measure employee satisfaction by questioning the respondent’s perception of their workplace. This will help management teams formulate strategies to re-build the internal structure of a work place and accommodate the needs of employees. Another alternative we highly recommend is our signature Team Development Program called ’The 5 behaviours of a Cohesive Team’. This program is also assessment-based and is all about implementing processes which encourage team cohesion.
We provide leaders with objective succession and career planning information. This often results in higher retention rates for high-performing staff and increased overall engagement.

Culture

Have you ever reflected on the culture of your work place? Cultures inevitably form when groups are working together, and in some cases, this culture can be toxic to the organisation. We deem this ‘culture by accident’, and fortunately there are tools to re-establish the ethos, atmosphere and dynamic of your employees. 360° survey is a powerful self-development tool which we use to improve work life for all stakeholders. This survey is undertaken by the entire team (managers, staff, clients etc) so we can compare the perceptions, and develop new initiatives to improve morale. If this is something you would like to work on independently, we can provide template surveys for you to utilise externally.
This method enables you to track your progression over time, and integrating the entire team means that everyone’s opinion is accounted for. If you feel unsure whether your employees are engaging with the work space, choose the template survey most relevant to you.

DISC Profiling

DISC is one of the worlds’ most popular and recognised psychometric assessment tools which for over 40 years has helped organisations worldwide to improve employee performance and interactions.

The 5 Behaviours of a Cohesive Team

Teamwork is the ultimate competitive advantage because it is so powerful and so rare.  A high-functioning team can achieve amazing things.  These teams are also less stressed, have a greater sense of wellbeing and exhibit more positive mindsets.

Based on the bestselling book The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni, The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team is a model and development program that guides intact teams through a journey to improve in five areas:

Trust,

Conflict,

Commitment,

Accountability

Results.

Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument

The Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (or HBDI®) is a psychometric assessment.  It’s focus is how individuals prefer to think.  Specialists in this tool refer to it as the ‘Whole Brain Model’ as it provides insights into our thinking preferences.  In doing so it highlights the diversity of different thinking styles and how these add enormous value to organisations and teams.

Analyses an individual’s personality traits, classifying them according to Carl Jung’s theory of psychological types:

Extraversion/introversion,

Sensing/intuition,

Thinking/feeling, and

Judging/perceiving.

This assessment is another that is very popular within the Corporate Environment.

Genos Eq Assessments

The Genos model shown below comprises a set of emotionally intelligent workplace behaviour competencies. Competencies represent skills and behaviours, based on underlying abilities and experiences, that are measurable and observable. The six emotionally intelligent leadership competencies of the Genos model capture the skills and behaviours that manifest from emotional intelligence abilities.

Profile Assessments

Profiles Sales Assessment

The Profiles Sales Assessment™ (PSA) measures how well a person fits specific sales roles in a company or organisation. It is primarily utilised for the selection, on-boarding and ongoing managing of sales people, account managers and associated teams. The “job profiling” feature of this tool is unique and customisable by company, organisation, role, department, manager, geography, or any combination of these.

This enables the evaluation of an employee or prospective employee relative to the qualities required to perform a specific sales role successfully in a specific organisation. It also predicts on-the-job performance in seven critical sales behaviours: prospecting, call reluctance, closing the sale, self- starting, teamwork, building and maintaining relationships, and compensation preference.

Profile XT

The ProfileXT® (PXT) assessment measures how well an individual fits specific jobs within an organisation.  The “job profiling” feature of this tool is unique and customisable by company, organisation, role, department, manager, geography, or any combination of these.

It is used all through the employee lifecycle for recruitment, selection, on-boarding, management and strategic workforce planning.

Profiles Performance Indicator

The Profiles Performance Indicator™ (PPI) is a DISC-type assessment that reveals insights regarding an individual’s job performance as well as aspects of their personality.  This is very relevant when this can impact their fit with their manager, coworkers, and team.

We use it primarily for motivating and coaching employees, as well as resolving post hire conflict and performance issues.
